with Faye Wilson
Saturday July 29th from 10am - 4pm in Blume's Academy Studio Katoomba, NSW.
Back by popular demand - for those who missed the last one, I am repeating this fun, one day workshop in which you will create a custom, casebound watercolour sketchbook with hand decorated cover papers and a hard cover.
This is the perfect workshop for anyone who wants to get a start in making artist books, journals and sketchbooks. I will be showing you some of my book making projects and artist books, and and showing you how to make and use the tools for this highly adaptable and creative art form. Once mastered, the techniques you will learn in this practical, hands on workshop can be built upon and used for a variety of creative book making projects.
At the end of the day you will take away a unique, custom bound, hard cover sketchbook made with 300GSM water colour paper to keep and use or to give as a gift to a cherished friend.
The price is $180 per person and includes a light lunch, tea, coffee and all paper, card and art materials. The lunch will be vegetarian but if you have allergies or special dietary requirements please bring your own food, snacks etc.
Limited to 6 people. Book & pay for 2 or more before June 30 for $165pp

For me, there is nothing quite as satisfying as making my own sketchbooks. I have been making them for many years - for my travels, special projects and as gifts for friends. I lget a lot of pleasure from drawing in them with hand made pens and tools I make from bamboo and other found materials. This workshop will be a fun day you to learn and for me to share some of my skills. It will also be a pleasure for me to cook some of my favourite vegetarian Sicilian foods for us to enjoy together around my open fireplace at lunchtime.
